How the $22.50 is worked out

Half of $15 is $7.50. Add it to the $15 you already earn and the overtime rate is $22.50. The $7.50 half is the only part the 2025 no-tax-on-overtime deduction lets you subtract from taxable income, up to $12,500 a year. The deduction calculator turns your overtime hours into that figure.
